Milwaukee East-West BRT
CTG was part of a consultant team that assisted Milwaukee County in determining the feasibility of bus rapid transit (BRT service) in a seven-mile East-West Corridor that connects downtown Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC) and Milwaukee County Research Park (MCRP). The study followed a three-tier evaluation process that ultimately led to identification of a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) that met the project’s purpose and needs, and was also competitive for consideration of federal funding.
CTG led all efforts in the development of operating plans and operating and maintenance (O&M) costs. We also completed a financial analysis for the project, identifying likely non-federal revenue sources needed to match anticipated federal funds.
Milwaukee County submitted findings from this feasibility study to request entry into FTA’s New Starts Program. FTA approved the project to advance into Project Development. CTG is presently part of the consultant team that is assisting Milwaukee County with the engineering and design phase of the project.
